Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Is it Happening?

Season 1 saw an unexpected love. People got addicted to it and started reading the manga as well. Now, MAPPA is doing us a favour by announcing and releasing the much-awaited Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0. Yuuta Okkotsu- the character we have heard throughout the movie, is going to be the main lead. We have never seen this specific character, but his cursed energy is said to almost compete for that of Gojo’s. How excited are you to see a character whose powers are comparable to that of Gojo’s?

With the amount of love and anticipation, we can safely say Jujutsu Kiasen is getting a season 2. Let us be honest about it- everyone wants to see the Shibuya Arc getting animated.

MAPPA has done some of the best works in this anime. It brought life to it, and one of the best things about the plot is that it’s maintaining its charm. The characters are relatable, and everyone loves the lovable sensei and his students.

Now, as of November 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen has a total of 24 episodes released between October 3, 2020, and March 27, 2024, as part of the first season of the anime series, produced by MAPPA. The series initially aired in Japan before being made available in dubbed format thanks to Crunchyroll and some other streaming services in the West.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Release Date

We do not know the official release date of the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2. We can safely say that we might be getting an announcement of the second season right after the movie gets out.

At the time of writing, Jujutsu Kaisen has not been officially renewed for season 2, but it’s likely only a matter of time before an announcement is made by MAPPA.

Despite there not being an official announcement concerning the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, it’s almost guaranteed that the series will return in the future.

Not only is Jujutsu Kaisen did season 1 end with a “To be continued” tagline, but the series is easily popular enough to warrant a renewal and there is plenty of source material left to adapt.

The official viewership statistics may not be available; however, no one is doubting the popularity and success of this anime. Currently, Jujutsu Kaisen is scoring an 8.7/10 on IMDB, 4.9/5 on Crunchyroll, 8.72/10 on MyAnimeList whilst sitting as the ranked 43rd best anime of all time.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Spoilers

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 should be opening with the Gojo’s Past arc, covering his time in Tokyo Jujutsu high with former classmate and friend Suguru Geto. Meanwhile, Geto and Gojo are tasked with escorting the Star Plasma Vessel to Master Tengen. Along the way, many different curse-using groups try and interfere with their mission.

Afterwards, the series should go directly into the Shibuya Incident arc. This arc will cover Geto’s master plan, which we see him briefly discuss with his Cursed spirit leadership in Season 1.

If you want to avoid some manga spoilers, we suggest you stop reading from here on- 

Season 2 might be finally the most dreaded season of all the manga lovers. After the Gojo Past Arc, comes the Shibuya Arc. We might get to see Satoru finally caught up in the traps of Suguru and Mahito.

We can promise every episode is going to be absolutely bomb and action-packed. Almost every episode covering the arc will have a fight of some sort of significant plot development, a great foot to start on. Although fans still don’t have an exact answer to when Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen comes out, they can rest assured their patience will be rewarded.

This is the official synopsis the production house provides. The characters are extremely lovable, and we might get to see more of them.

A boy swallows a cursed talisman – the finger of a demon – and becomes cursed himself. He enters a shaman’s school to be able to locate the demon’s other body parts and thus exorcise himself. How will the first-years fight? Is it over for them? Will Sukuba once again rule the earth? Will Gojo Satoru come back? All of these are coming soon.
