Military themed battle light novel series “86” will be receiving an anime adaptation. The announcement was given during a live stream event commemorating the first anniversary of Kadokawa’s light novel website “Kimirano”.
The Livestream also announced that the series is inspiring an Academy 86 manga by Suzume Somemiya. The manga will be Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Alive magazine.

Anime’s release date, studio, staff, and cast haven’t been confirmed yet, so we will need more news to arrive. The article will be updated as soon as more information will be available.
Military Themed 86 TV Anime Release Date
As mentioned above the anime 86’s official release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it will surely release soon. The stream only said that they will adapt manga into anime but no date was provided.
The story takes in a world where the Republic of San Magnolia has been attacked by its neighbor, the Empire. Outside the 85 districts of the Republic, there is the ‘non-existent 86th district,’ where young men and women continue to fight. Sheen directs the actions of young suicide bombers, while Lena is a “curator” who commands a detachment from a remote rear. The story of the tragic struggle between these two begins!
86 is a military-themed battle light novel series written by Asato Asato with illustrations drawn by Shirabi. Re: Creators’ artist I-IV is providing mechanical designs. The novel series is published in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bungo since April 2017 with seven volumes in circulation.
Motoki Yoshihara is drawing a manga based on novels in Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine.
The novel series won the grand prize in the 23rd Dengeki Novel Prize competition in 2016. It ranked 2nd in the bunkobon rankings for the 2018 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!
