It has been a wild ride for the fans of the popular Netflix drama Lucifer as they been waiting with baited breaths for over a year for new episodes of the upcoming season. Interestingly, on May 11, 2018, the show was canceled by Fox after three seasons.

Lucifer Season 5 Release Date
The “Lucifer” Season 5 is a highly anticipated release event for Netflix. This wildly popular Biblical drama, which was originally aired on Fox, has kept fans waiting since the latest cliffhanger stunned fans.
Chloe has finally accepted the Devil as her love, and Lucifer now has to return back to Earth, new challenges await.
Many fans, popularly called ’Lucifans’ have been following the development of the anticipated fifth season as production on the season finale was postponed due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to recent reports, it’s now been revealed that the first part of the final season is expected to return very soon to but no exact release date has yet been announced.
Lauren German, who is best known for playing the beautiful and intrepid Chloe Decker also took to Twitter to confirm that Netflix will be announcing Lucifer’s release date very soon.
Not only that, but co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich also teased about the new season. She revealed to fans how the premiere date will be released very soon. We can expect Lucifer Season 5 Release Date somewhere at the end of 2020. But there is no official confirmation yet.

A month later Netflix picked up the series for the fourth season of ten episodes and on June 6, 2019, Netflix renewed the series for the fifth and final season and confirmed it will consist of 16 episodes.

A new format of the new Lucifer Season
Season five is touted to be the final installment of Lucifer despite being renewed by Netflix after Fox canceled the show after just three seasons.
The upcoming season is also expected to have a new format and is longer compared to season four where most episodes were around 50 minutes, while seasons one to three were much shorter at around 40 to 45 minutes long.
They have also confirmed something else about the new series in its place. One new method that has been revealed is the inclusion of themed episodes in the upcoming season.
Then there will be a 1940s noir-themed episode, as well as a full-on musical episode. While these particular digressions will definitely add a new touch, but how will they come about from the series’ modern setting is yet to be announced.
Lucifer Season 5 Plot
Lucifer Season 4 ended with a huge cliffhanger as Lucifer accepted his role as the ruler of Hell. After many years on Earth, he descended into the underworld to sit on the throne. How does that implicit for Lucifer season 5 is yet to be found out!
Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the new season and while they didn’t disclose any specifics, they teased that the final season would be going for broke.
Modrovich elaborated the ethos of how they were approaching season 5 while executive producer Joe Henderson revealed they have devised multiple ways to bring Lucifer back from Hell.
However, all this means just one thing for the fans of the show that they get a lot more of Lucifer than they’re used to, in the new outing after Chloe accepted him.
Lucifer Netflix Spoilers for upcoming Season 5
A picture of garden was leaked as per Digital Spy reported earlier perhaps the scene was meant to be set in the Garden of Eden, meaning the fifth season of the show will potentially be bringing its characters to the celestial realm. But there are no confirmed big spoilers yet.
Another bit of spoiler chatter for Lucifer’s final season is that it may not be the final season, after all. Because it will definitely return with a sixth season, as Tom Ellis was in talks with Netflix. Lucifer Season 6 is on the rolls after the fifth season for sure.
