Recently, Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train earned a total of 20.4 billion yen after just 24 days of release in Japan. The total number of tickets sold was 15 million in total. This humongous number was achieved despite the fright of the global pandemic.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’s which was released in Japan had received 20.3 billion yen in total pushing its self to 6th place after being beaten by Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train. The anime genre is extremely popular in Japan as it has traditional roots set deep in the country.

There are currently 5 anime movies in the top 10 list of Japan’s highest-grossing films. Spirited Away stands strong in first place followed by the fan-favorite – Your Name. The newly released Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train has risen to 5th position after being in the 10th position only a week ago. Placing in at 7th and 8th place are the movies Howl’s Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke.

The film released on October 16 which was a weekday and earned a total of 1.26 billion yen by selling 910,507 tickets. This record-breaking earning received the title of highest weekday opening of all time in the japan film industry.

So far the official news states that the big boys of the Anime broadcasting Industry – Aniplex and Funimation will bring the movie to America next year. The expected release date lies in the early months of 2024. Once this is done, many other smaller companies will be able to buy the rights for streaming on their websites. So all we can do is wait for the movie to release officially and watch it the way it was meant to be watched.

The movie revolves around Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke investigating mysterious complaints from a train. They meet the Fire Hashira who also seems to be there on a mission. Unfortunately, things get dark when they encounter one of the upper-rank demons who starts creating hallucinations to mess with the minds of the young demon slayers.

To further complicate things, another member of the Twelve Kizuki appears to take on the flame Hashira. The latest visuals from the new teaser show many scenes involving major fights that are beautifully portrayed and have amazing artwork. No wonder this movie is breaking records like twigs.
