Good News for Kingdom fans as six years of praying and wishing, Kingdom season 3 is returning this April looking better than ever. In this article, we will talk about the newly released promotional video, Kingdom Season 3 release date, episode count, streaming details and season 3’s plot details.

 

Kingdom Season 3 new Promotional Video

The YouTube channel to Kingdom series began streaming a new trailer. The new trailer previews the opening theme song “TOMORROW” by BiSH and ending theme song “Deep Inside” by Waterweed.

The trailer also revealed that season 3 will release on April 5, 2020. The trailer confirms that the new season will more hand-drawn than of the previous 2 seasons with minimal use of CGI.

Kingdom Season 3 Release Date

As mentioned above Kingdom Season 3 release date is scheduled for April 5, 2020. The show will air on NHK.

Kingdom Manga 3 Episode Count

As previously announced the season 3 will run for a total of 24, episodes. Is has not been confirmed yet whether it will air continuously for 2 cours or will be spilt cour. Anyway, 24 are enough to adapt manga’s most famous arc- The Coalition The Arc.

Kingdom Manga Plot

Kingdom Season 3 will start with adapting one of the most famous kingdom arcs- Coalition Invasion Arc.

DURING THE ALLIANCE BETWEEN ZHAO AND QIN, AND WHILE QIN WAS FIGHTING TO EXPAND ITS BORDERS, THE PRIME MINISTER OF ZHAO, RI BOKU WORKED WITH THE PRIME MINISTER OF CHU, SHUN SHIN KUN BEHIND THE SCENES. THEIR GOAL WAS TO CREATE A COALITION ARMY CONSISTING OF ALL THE WARRING STATES WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE OF DESTROYING QIN. THEIR SCHEME WAS SUCCESSFUL AND A HUGE ARMY OF 540,000 TROOPS WAS FORMED FROM ALL STATES EXCEPT QI.

Streaming Details

Not announced yet but Funimation is expected to simul release and simul dub the series during Spring. If you wish to catch up with the previous two seasons, you can find the two seasons streaming on FunimationNOW.

Kingdom Season 3 Studio and Staff

Signpost which previously was named Pierrot+ will animate the new season.

Also, Kingdom Season will have a new production staff with After School Dice Club director Kenichi Imaizumi onboard. The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These’s Noboru Takagi as scriptwriter and Berserk’s (2016) character designer Hisashi Abe.

About Kingdom

If you are unfamiliar with Kingdom, Kingdom is a historical manga based on Warring states of the era written by Yasuhisa Hara and published in Weekly Young Jump since 2006. An anime adaptation premiered in 2012 and sequel in 2013.

Both seasons were streamed by Funimation. The manga inspired a live-action film adaptation by Shinsuke Satō that opened in Japan last April.

Hara’s historical manga centers around the slave boy Xin and his dream of becoming a great general for the state of Qin. Xin helps Ying Zheng, the young Qin king who shares his desire to unify China, rise to power within the state. Xin does all he can to become a superior commander of an army capable of defeating the Seven Warring States.
